This is why if we want to be near to the Lord, we have to seek out the suffering,
since God is near to the suffering…

Maybe someone reading this is suffering right now. Let someone pray for you!
Let someone help you! It is YOU who will be doing THEM a kindness, bringing them
near to the Lord…
 
Yes, we must die to self daily to please God. We are all called upon to help those in need…this is the essence of being a Christian.
