“Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo”
–wonder what the promised land looked like from high atop mount Nebo?
Has anyone ever “been to Mt. Nebo” in adoration? The apostle John was
“shown everything” in the book of Revelation…
“For thirty days the children of Israel wept for Moses”
– Thirty days is a long time to cry, did they keep crying all day?
And there were a lot of Israelites, all crying at once in the same place…
What was that like? They must have stopped to eat and sleep…
I wonder who buried him, and how did he keep the location secret forever,
while everyone knew it was in Moab?
“Hear now, all you who fear God, while I declare
what he has done for me”
– This line of today’s psalm makes me wonder, what shall I declare that He has
done for me?
“If he refuses to listen to them, tell the Church”
– This gospel is very frustrating to me. Where’s our church, to listen to our
legal problems? I do not think the priest would listen, but would say like
Jesus did, “Am I your judge? Guard against greed” (story of man telling
Jesus his brother wouldn’t give him his share of their inheritance)
“then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector”
– And how is that? This is Jesus talking. I thought we were supposed to treat
people as the good samaritan would, and love our enemies, etc…
“whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again, amen, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth
about anything for which they are to pray,
it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father”
– And supposing “your brother” gets 2 or 3 witnessess “on his side”?
