So much animal cruelty please pray

I read an article in the UK newspaper about cruelty to elephants, and its made me really sad. A link to a petition is below. Are there any specific prayers to stop animal cruelty or any Bible verses to pray? I really want us to pray for an end to this.

Animal cruelty brings me to tears, more so than any number of abortion stories. I do not know why but something about animal cruelty is so emotionally breaking.

My prayers are with the animals that they know mercy and compassion and are treated with dignity and love always
