And did not see what all the uproar is about. My husband and I both found it uplifting and moving. Of course, there are some things that may not be accurate, but nothing that would stop us from purchasing this movie when it comes out.
We did not think that the movie portrayed the Blessed Virgin as a smart-alecky kid. Because Mary was without sin, would that make her without joy?
Everyone’s “anti” argument is the birthing of Jesus. Nobody knows exactly what Our Lady experienced physiologically during Christ’s birth, although I think it would be safe to say she had to know that the baby was coming. If one paid attention to the differences between Elizabeth’s labor, and Mary’s, I think the movie was sensitive to her sinlessness.
I’m sure there are a lot of threads around here regarding the film, and if this needs to be moved, that’s fine. I haven’t been around much, so haven’t seen others’ opinions.
