I really wasn’t excited for the movie until I watched the trailer. I’m now cautiously optimistic.

Disney/Lucasfilm recently announced that the director for The Last Jedi will be doing a new trilogy unrelated to the Skywalker family. Yesterday they announced that the two individuals behind Game of Thrones will also be a doing a trilogy. One news article raised an interesting point: without the Skywalkers, will Star Wars be anything other than another generic movie franchise?
