Some questions about Catholic teaching

To all those who have helped me in this thread:

This will most likely be my last post in this thread. It is getting fairly time-consuming and I believe I have come to understand what I ultimately must be reconciled with before continuing. If I can come to accept the authoritative Church, then I will be able to accept all other Catholic doctrines with or without Scriptural evidence for them. Scriptural evidence for the establishment of the authoritative Church has been provided to me, and I will pray over it, read it, and re-read it profusely.

I too am saddened that you are going to discontinue on this thread…Though I do understand how these things can become time consuming .

You are quite right that - until you come to understand and accept the authority of the Church all of these other things will continue to be problematic.
I don’t know if I suggested this earlier or not…but the Catholic network EWTN has a wonderful program on Monday nights called “The Journey Home” about people, often times former protestant ministers, who have come into the faith from many different faith traditions - or even from no faith tradition.
Among these people, often times trained in theology, is the repetitive theme of “no consistency” among protestants in “bible alone” interpretation. And when they ran up against this problem - they were stymied because the protestants have no mechanism for resolving these matters - even though the Bible instructs and demonstrates such a mechanism.

Their stories make for interesting listening. HERE is a link to the YouTube listing of many programs…Please take the time to listen to some of these. I believe they will be of great help to you.

Definition of UNTIL. : up to the time that (from Merriam Webster)

Now we are getting somewhere. This word only tells you what happened up to that time. It tells you nothing about what occurs after that time. You are implying something based on the way many english speakers use or understand the word today–not on what it actually means or even considering the original word and its use. How did the author use the word?
