I consider Aquanis to be the brains and root reason to much of modern catholicism today aside from Jesus himself and the founders and thats why I can’t wait to read his works when I have the time.

Here is a great site of another recent thinker and devout catholic and some of his writings

G.K. Chesterton.

I took an hour look and read through some stuff and I find a lot of it very interesting. I just want to hear other thoughts. Anyone?

I’ve been reading Chesterton whenever I get the chance for the last 2 years or so. I don’t get the chance nearly as often as I’d like but what I’ve read I love. I highly recommend anything he’s written.

Unfortunately I haven’t yet delved into Aquinas (so many books, so little time…😦 ) but several of my friends recommend his writings. Hopefully I’ll get the chance sometime in the next few years to gain another favorite theologian.

Can I please just give out my favorite Chesterton quote, which literally chokes me up each time I read it? :

" The mere man on two legs, as such, should be felt as something more heartbreaking than any music and more startling than any charicature."

It says something about our human condition, great and yet broken, imprisoned by awareness and yet liberated by it, noble and ridiculous. It is an appreciation of the true enigma of the human condition and the majesty of God in his creation. One reads it and could put the words on God’s lips, and it is an expression of the way God feels about people.

It is from “Orthodoxy”, a great anecdotal defense of belief.
