Never fear going to confession, I know its difficult, I’ve had similar fears about it myself. Just remember, when you go in, you are confessing to an ever-merciful God who will always love you. He loves you so much, he sent part of himself to die and rise for you. The priest in the booth there is deeply desiring to give you absolution. He wants you to feel the saving graces of Christ. Remember the song, Amazing Grace, it was written by the captain of a slave ship. He was unrepentant until his ship was caught in a storm.

John Paul II loved the saying, Fear Not. Please, “fear not”. No matter what you have done, when you go into the confessional and tell the priest your sins, they are all going to be forgiven. It’s a clean slate, you get to start over with your soul. I find it helps me if I’m particularly ashamed to clutch my Rosary when I go in. If you don’t have one, there are usually several in the vestibule of your church. Also read some scripture. I know it sounds trite to say that, but it helps. It truly does. When you think about reading the word of God, something wonderful happens in your soul. It doesn’t happen right away but you need to do that.

As for getting past pornography, make frequent confessions and read the Bible at least three times a day. You must immerse yourself in the things of God to get past this. Nothing is easy when you deal with addiction but it can be overcome. also you need to find a friend who you can trust to listen to you and be there for you. They should be there to keep you accountable, even if you just establish a code letter for if you’ve stayed free of pornography or if you have fallen into the trap. You need to tell someone about it. Even a person over e-mail or on facebook. Some secret little code will help you.

I’ll be praying for you.

And tell your priest and your parents or a professional that you’ve had suicidal thoughts, you should never be alone.

It’s always embarrasing to “fess up” but in the long run you’ll feel better. You are not perfect. Besides, If God forgave King David he will forgive you. Don’t despair.

idk if i have i just feel horrible… i made a vow to god i went like a month then i masturbated… gosh how would i tell a priest that i actually attempted to give myself to the devil … idk man should i go? or work my way up to confession ? i’ll try praying more and ima try to work my way up i guess im just truly sorry for all that i’ve done i just can’t believe that i made a vow to never look at porn and masturbate i went like 1 month and a half should i just work my way up to confession? i even regret looking up that stuff so bad 😦

man that sick filthy garbage ruins your mind… im trying my best not to do it though

The only vow that any man can keep is the vow to earnestly try. But you won’t have to tell God that. Just don’t forget it.

I have known what you are feeling from a vast number of times I went to confession, afraid to tell the priest about the things I had done. At times I didn’t know how to confess, what words to use to describe my actions, but God always helped me get through each confession.
I heard stories of how Priests were mean to people with a lot of sin, but I came to find out they were just stories told by teenagers and some adults to gather attention for themselves.
As a 69 year old man, I have through the years learned from Scripture and study that God doesn’t want us to labor under our sins, but to labor under His love and protection from all satan would do to us.
Guilt is a heavy burden, placed on us by satan, but useful by God, because it can drive us to Jesus, who paid the price for all our sins.
1John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to Him, [Jesus} he can be depended upon to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. [Living Bible]
James 5:16 Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results. [LB]
1Corinthians 15:3-5 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.
2Corinthians 5:21 For God took the sinless Christ and poured into Him our sins. Then, in exchange, He poured God’s goodness into us. [Living Bible]
God is waiting to hear from you so He can come pour His goodness into you. There is nothing God won’t forgive you for, and better yet, He doesn’t want to remember your sins, but only wants to walk with you into a bright future of living for Him…
Romans 3:23 Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious ideal; yet now God declares us “not guilty” of offending him if we trust in Jesus Christ, who in his kindness freely takes away our sins.
Consider finding a Bible that is easy to understand, like
“The Message” “The Living Bible”, then talk with a Priest concerning what you are reading in the Bible. I made the mistake of being afraid of Priests and I fell away from the Church, but I am attempting to come back to the Catholic Church because Scripture and the Holy Spirit are drawing me back.
May God richly bless you and all that you do for Him.
May this season of turmoil be turned into a season of joy and fullness as you seek to honor God by getting to know Him from His autobiography, The Bible.

First pray that St Michael defend you against such thoughts as suicide.
Second, never fear going to confession. Our Lord already knows your dillemma and the priest has “heard it all before”.

May offer you some consolation - from a 54 year old man to a 15 year young man.

I too spent much time away from Church, from confession and from God.
All due to my sins. - And the remarkable thing is that now, after finally returning to God, to Church, and the sacraments, God has shown me how and where my fall began.
It began when I gave into lust with my girlfriend at age 17.
Without going into detail - we came close once and I backed out. But I went back the next evening and did not back out. After that I was hooked for many years. I did not confess my sin at the time either.
This one failure on my part sent me spiraling into other sins and mistakes that cost me dearly over the next 30 years.

I tell you this not as discouragement but to encourage you not to make the same mistake I made in not confessing and getting good spiritual help and counciling.

If you’d like to talk a bit more frankly and privately feel free to PM me. Though I may not be able to respond quickly, I will respond.

Peace
James
