My son was working a co-op job (he is a college student) in Panama City Florida this semester. We went down earlier in the week to get his belonging and move him back to his college apartment. The place he worked sustained millions of dollars in damage so it will not be open for the foreseeable future.

At any rate, the positives about the entire horrible situation in Panama City is that the people of God are rising up and ministering to those in need in the community. Several churches are distributing food and water to both citizens and the emergency/utility workers, even while the church buildings are gone or damaged. I know the First Baptist Church held a worship service in the parking garage on Sunday and is collecting and distributing donations. Saint Dominic Catholic Church was all but destroyed and they are also collecting and distributing food and water.

Oh, the storm didn’t damage any of my sons belongings but someone broke into his apartment and stole several hundred dollars worth of stuff.

God bless all the people of God and help the residents of Panama City recover from this disaster.
