It doesn’t. It is spelled with an “I”.I thought Latin didn’t have a “J” though…
Since around the 17th century, J ** has been used in some texts to stand for a consonantal I.** Classical Latin and Medieval Latin didn’t have it, but most of my liturgical texts do (Missale, Kyriale, etc.). Lowercase **j ** was sometimes used as the final **I ** in a series, like iij for III.Ah! Thanks!!!
