mystified

I attended Misa en Español Sunday evening. The small choir, accompanied by the electric piano that parish has instead of an organ, was very good. I was surprised but pleased when the man at the keyboard played a verse and chorus of “How Great Thou Art” just prior to Communion. No happy-clappy stuff, no Hagen or Haas.
The priest stuck to “the book” in the celebration of the liturgy, although it was a little hard to follow his homily as he strolled about the round church. It was a little disconcerting when the worshippers frequently used the orans posture, for reasons I didn’t understand.
After the final blessing, the priest led prayers for intersecion by Our Lady of Guadalupe. All very reverent.
