why we really want to proclaim Christ.

Not because "we have all the answers.’

Not because ‘we’re right and everybody else is wrong.’

We want to proclaim Christ because we love Him. Because knowing Him, loving Him, serving Him, is so wonderful, so beautiful, so meaningful, that we want everybody to be able to share in the joy of doing so.

We want everybody to know how wonderful God is: How great His love and mercy, His kindness, His care for all of us.

It’s easy to drift into side tracks (not that they aren’t important) because sometimes those tracks can lead people away from God; since we are trying to lead people TO God, we will often find ourselves getting caught up in those side issues as we try to stop people moving away, and try to start moving them toward, God.

But the most important thing to remember is how much we love God, and He loves us. . .and to show that love to Him and to all people. Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, we should reflect God’s love to all people.

Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

I agree 100% - Thanks for putting it in print!!! 👍

You are totally right. Oftentimes in my attempts at open evangelism I think we all get caught up in the politics of the defending the Church, rather than talking about the peace and unity that come from knowing our Savior. You cannot invite people into full communion with Christ’s Church before they come into Himself. 👍

YES! I am living proof of this. I didn’t come back to the Church for any other reason but the Eucharist. I knew that I could never get as close to Jesus as I wanted to without it.

I also know from experience that getting closer to Jesus changes your life so much that you would never want to do anything that would be against His will. So, if we really want to address the problem of sin in our society, shouldn’t we be introducing the world to Jesus and letting Him change them as they know him? Instead, it seems that we spend more time trying to convince them to obey first. Obedience is a response to the love of Jesus. We’re going at it all backwards.

YES to this thought 🙂 👍

The best evangelists are those who see a beautiful sunrise and rush out to tell everyone look, Oh see. Isn’t this beautiful.

Christ is this sunrise.
