Just read on the net that Paul was talking about his mom. Still like the song;)

What about the Irish band, INNOCENCE MISSION. They have some almost Catholic songs out, ne?
So I took a plane to Medjugorje
To be with you Mother Mary,
Mother Filling up this place with hope of peace
Are you, are you here?
You’re everywhere
Everywhere
Everywhere
Everywhere

One man come in the name of love
One man come and go
One come he to justify
One man to overthrow

In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love

One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resist
One man washed on an empty beach.
One man betrayed with a kiss

In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love

(nobody like you…)

Early morning, April 4
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride

In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love…

My new obsession (my kids think I am cool) Mumford and Sons

And I came home
Like a stone
And I fell heavy into your arms
These days of dust
Which we’ve known
Will blow away with this new sun

And I’ll kneel down
Wait for now
And I’ll kneel down
Know my ground

And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

So break my step
And relent
You forgave and I won’t forget
Know what we’ve seen
And him with less
Now in some way
Shake the excess

But I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

So I’ll be bold
As well as strong
And use my head alongside my heart
So take my flesh
And fix my eyes
That tethered mind free from the lies

But I’ll kneel down
Wait for now
I’ll kneel down
Know my ground

Raise my hands
Paint my spirit gold
And bow my head
Keep my heart slow

Cause I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you

I’ll jump ahead to Christmas with the Staple Singers - “Who Took the Merry Out of Christmas?”

youtube.com/watch?v=sZR_Pn6STYA

A great song about the commercialization of the celebration of Christ’s nativity. The title has two meanings - they are really singing, “Who Took the Mary Out of Christmas?” as you realize about halfway into the song.

“…showing no respect for Mary’s only son!”

I have no idea if the Staple Singers were Catholic, but the song acknowledges that Mary only had one son, as we Catholics believe. Donny Osmond had to change that last lyric to “Mary’s baby son” when he sang a (not very good) cover.
