Who are the “sons of God” in Genesis who took the women of mankind for their own and produced the “giants of renown”?

Recently I read what the Fathers of the Church had to say about the “men of renown”. I was surprised to find that they thought it referred to offsping produced by fallen angels and earthly women. I was surprised that they thought that, but many of them did. They actually went into some detail about it.
I don’t know if that is what actually happened or not, but what I thought of when I was reading it is what people say who claim to have been obducted by aliens: They often claim that the aliens had “relations” with them. Pretty strange.
You can probably find the writings of the Church fathers online. Try typing “Church fathers men of renown” into a search engine.
