I"ve had several encounters with famous people no one else recognized. Once I was in Princeton eating at the Burger King on Nassau St. George Will and a student came in and sat next to me–Will was going to give a speech, and they were discussing it. No one else recognized him.A bit of a side note: Elizabeth Berkley once was on a flight where the in-flight movie was “Showgirls”. The guy sitting in the seat next to her didn’t recognize her.
Another time I was on a subway and the host of a popular daily TV show was standing next to me. I said how much I liked his show and we talked the rest of the way. No one else recognized him.
Out of context, people aren’t that recognizable. But on an airplane? Everybody flies on airplanes!
