Sorcery and Witchcraft in the Bible

Were you using reverse psychology. **The site you give links to has an abundance of scriptural condemnations of sorcery and witchcraft **etc. It’s not a good idea never to play with fire.

Regarding Hallowe’en for instance. I am always saddened by this as it highjacks what the feast is really about, the Souls of the Dead, for whom we should pray The Easter Bunny highjacks Easter, a secular Santa Claus highjacks the birth of our Saviour. Instead of a holy feast, Hallowe’en is children’s fun and often grotesque creatures…but consulting the ouija board, horoscopes, or have your fortune told, these are not 'harmless", they are betrayals of the faith we should have in Jesus, and it is all these things that come under fire in those scriptures.

Hallowe’en was never a part of my country’s customs, unfortunately due to movies, it has seeped into my country, but thankfully, not universally. This perversion of Holy Soul’s Day is sad and insulting to them and our faith,

Consulting the ouija board can, and has been known, to draw in evil instances and I’ve known cases where it caused immediate mental illness. Dabbling in horoscopes, or have your fortune is trusting in alien spiritual forces, and may impact on decisions people make for their lives…but as Christians, we are to give trust to God.

Anyhow, I wonder if you were just using reverse psychology in saying what you did.

Sorry about the language - “Not condemning fake practices” meant that the bible does condemn them because they are real.

As one who has used the ouija board as a kid (no one told me that it was evil), I can tell you that the thing did spell out answers to questions, and I wasn’t pushing it. I’m one who hates the Harry Potter series because of all of the ideas it puts into our kids’ heads.
