South Africa in Crisis

We need prayer and urgently We have girls who do not want to date any other guys except trying to get their hands on Priests.It is just not good since priests are falling prey to their tricks.

Of course we will pray for them.
This sort of thing has always happend.
It’s like some women who will go after only married men.
It’s the lure of the forbidden, like men chasing after only married women.

Is this a big problem amongst both the white and black priests,
or just one particular group or what?
I’m not sure of the state of the Church in South Africa.

At the moment it is Black priests that are forever in the news papers for this kind of behaviour.My honest opinion of the state of the church right now is THE WORST,we need to defend ourselves and our faith constantly.

We are still holding on though we just need prayer.

Majobe, can you give some references to these things? I have heard nothing like this before.

I would also suggest care in the naming of a thread. I got quite anxious at this title and wondered what was going on that my family had not told me about.

We should always be praying for the Catholic Church throughout the world, but in some ways this post makes it seem as though the Catholic Church in South Africa is about to collapse.

I stay in a region called KwaZulu Natal in South Africa and we have a Newspaper that comes out every thursday calle UMAFRIKA.You will not believe the thing they say about our priests every week ,girls confessing to this type of behaviour and naming priests they have been going out with ,its a shame.

The last article that mede me stop buying the paper was of a girl who was convinced by the priest to have an abortion.

I do not mean to trash our priests ,a month ago my couson was ordained .I love my Church so much, I just worry a lot maybe:shrug: .

Majobe, please remember that just because something is in a newspaper does not make it true. And some newspapers are quick to publish stories without checking if the story is true or not. Also, are these specifically Catholic priests? I know that there have always been criticisms of Catholics in South Africa, but it sometimes gets that reporters do not tell the whole story.

I too come from KZN, the most beautiful part of South Africa , although I am for a while living far, far away. May you have peace in your faith, within our church and in our land.
