**Pierre, SD (LifeNews.com) – **The health and safety of women from dangerous abortions is significant enough to warrant state inspection of abortion facilities, a state House legislative panel said. The committee signed off on legislation to do that on Monday.

Rep. Gordon Howie, a Republican who sponsored the bill, told members of the committee that medical facilities like hospitals, nursing homes, and other centers are already licensed, so it makes sense to apply those regulations to abortion businesses.

**Pierre, SD (LifeNews.com) – **The South Dakota state House has signed off on legislation that would authorize the state health department to inspect abortion centers in the state. The measure also requires any abortion facility to be officially licensed by the state.

The measure passed on an overwhelmingly bipartisan 65 to 2 vote and now heads to the Senate, which approved a similar measure already.

As much as I cringe at the thought of anyone having to enter an abortion clinic… maybe the inspections will cause some of these clinic to close down. If your going to claim that an abortion is a “medical” procedure then the places that these acts happens need to be clean. Maybe Planned Parenthood won’t be able to afford the up keep on their clinic or those random abortion clinic will shut down… Hopeful that will mean less children dying.
