Probably. There is one every year about this time. I had to re-scedule an anniversary trip to New Orleans about three years ago because of that event.

Peace

Good to see they have their priorities straight. :whacky:

this was sent to me:
Dear miguel,

Please act now!

In this time of great mourning and sadness, we are appalled to hear of the celebration of an unofficial “Southern Decadence in Exile” event to be held in downtown Lafayette, La. at 5 p.m. on September 7. The event is often characterized by lewd behavior, wild revelry and public indecency.

According to the organizers’ web site, the revelers will hold a parade or what they call a “crawl” from the Sound Factory at 209 Jefferson St. to Jules Downtown at 533 Jefferson St. We are asking you to petition the Lafayette city president Joey Durel to stop this “unofficial” parade on the public city streets for the sake of public decency and out of respect to a climate of mourning for the hurricane victims.

Please send your protest. Please do so now! The “celebration” is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7! Act now by clicking here!

Until next time.

Yours in Jesus and Mary,

Please, let’s not get into the “New Orleans deserved all that destruction” mode!
