Hello all,

A friend of mine is born and raised in Spain, temporarily living in the USA. Her and her husband are moving back to Spain next month. She comes from a very strong Catholic family, though her husband does not. She seems to want to return to Church and faith, but isn’t quite there yet. Her husband is an agnostic scientist, though he’s not anti-theistic.

Her English is ok, but I don’t think she could get through a complex book.

I’m wondering if there’s anything in Spanish that I could give her before she leaves? I’d like to give her something about Catholicism in particular, as well as the existence of God in general.

I was thinking about the scientific evidence regarding Eucharistic miracles, or maybe the evidence from Fatima. Those are miracles that can be looked at scientifically today, which point towards the Catholic Church in particular.

As far as philosophical arguments regarding Gods existence in general, I was thinking of something along the lines of Dr William Lane Craig, though I’m not sure if there’s anything good in Spanish along those lines.

Any (name removed by moderator)ut or recommendations would be welcome!

An Interview with an Exorcist by Fr. Fortea.

Edit: oops, it isn’t in Spanish, and I’m not sure if there is a Spanish version. I found this other one by the same authorMemorias de un exorcista / Memoirs of an Exorcist (Spanish Edition) .

If you order online, then a book can be mailed from Spain. You can mail a postcard before or after. I would suggest looking for a book that was written in Spanish and that has been translated into a variety of languages. If English is one of those languages, then you can check the content for yourself. Remember what Humphrey Bogart said in Casablanca to the military officer who boasted that Shakespeare was a great German poet: the English translation is pretty good. Similarly, if the original text was Spanish, then the Spanish translation should be pretty good.

Is your problem that there are too many choices? The combination of Spanish language and Catholic religion does not sound like a problem of too few choices. I think it would be a bigger challenge to find a Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) apologetics book written in the language Quechuan or the language Basque.
