Why do Catholics touch their forhead,lips and chest before the gospel?
 
When we hear the Gospel we are literally hearing the words of Jesus, God incarnate. We should pay special attention to what He has to say to us. To prepare to hear the Gospel Catholics make these signs of the cross to remind us that the Lord should be in our minds, on our lips, and in our hearts.
