I know that the story of David in the OT is often used to convey the concept that there is still punishment after we are forgiven (David was forgiven but his son still died as punishment for his affair).
Can anyone help me identify a specific example of this type in the NT? I’m familiar with other passages that relate to purgatory (a man’s work will be tested by fire, won’t be set free until you repay the last penny, etc.) but are there examples as explicit as in the OT of God’s punishment *after *forgiveness?
