Targeting the economically vulnerable U of M students for sperm donors is the plan. They clearly state the target audience is college students. They clearly state the economic incentive.

I know, here I am documenting decadence as opposed to helping the vulnerable. The decadence of sperm donation combined with the decadence of what companies will do for profit, target the weak.

Placed under Catholic Living > Family Life as it revolves around the issue of reproduction.

It is sad, but I don’t know what one can do about it other than trying to keep spreading awareness of the harmfulness of trying to create families this way, and of the myriad moral consequences of purposely fathering children who will grow up having no connection to their biological father. If you google the subject, you will come across many articles by mainstream news sources about the children of sperm donors, some of whom have scores of half siblings. There was also a recent story about a Dutch man who fathered an estimated 1,000 children through sperm donation between 1984 and 2005. (The man himself believes it was “only” about 200 children, but no one can say for sure. As of the writing of the article last year, he had been matched with 57 of them.)
I thought - who will remember me? The man who fathered 200 children

Unfortunately, from the point of view of a college student in need of cash, this is a very easy way to earn money, and of course the company sells it as “helping families in need.”

This practice has been going on for so long, it is a standing story line in movies and TV shows. Nothing new under the sun.

Yes, it is a scandal, but it is allowed by laxed laws that permits gametes “donation” and the sell of gametes.
