Somebody e-mailed me about what the Spiritual Act Of Communion was. As an RCIA Candidate, this is what I said today at the 11 AM mass…

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.

Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.

I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.

Yes, this is one of the several spiritual
communion prayers said during the EWTN Masses. So beautiful! Are you able to watch any of the daily Masses broadcast on EWTN?
They are broadcast 3 times a day, so if you cannot attend daily Mass, at least one can participate by way of sattelite. Oh, what a wonderful world we live in!

I’ll check what the broadcast times are. Thank you.

I love this prayer! Thank you Andruschak, for teaching it to me.

I believe that since Jesus responds to our heart, then if one desires to receive Jesus in the most Holy Sacriment of Communion, I believe there is no difference between receiving spiritually if a person is unable to receive in the flesh and receiving in the spirit.
I remember one Sunday when I was not able to go to mass, and my wife left for mass, I got on my knees and told Jesus that I so much desired to receive Him in communion and since I was not able to come to Him would He come to me? When my wife got back from mass she told me that during mass Jesus told her to tell me to get on my knees and that she was to bless me with a spiritual communion.

I was so over joyed and thanked Jesus for thinking of me, what a wonderful day I had.

God bless
