Spiritual advisor

I am looking for a spiritual advisor that I can speak with and I would be willing to travel anywhere in the states to speak with such a person. I have been working with a trappist monk for many years now who is elderly and nearing the end of his life. My time with him has been deeply satisfying and helped me grow very much.

What I am looking for at this stage is someone who has been through all of the nights that John of the Cross has been through and who can help to guide me on a journey into those same places. Any help or recommendations towards this end would be greatly appreciated.

I am sorry to hear about that. In the short amount of time I searched Eastern Orthodoxy/Catholic Orthodoxy, I will tell you, it is a very small world. Does your advisor know of anyone to recommend? There are a few Trappist monestaries, will writing to them be of help?

Call any local Monastery or Retreat center. Describe to them the type of person that gels with you spiritually, and they will help you. No need to travel far and wide.
