I am taking a long leave of absence from the forum. I am in the midst of a severe spiritual crisis, and so it’s best not to engage in theology or other debates during such a matter (at least for me).
The frank truth is, I have lost faith in the Roman Catholic Church. There are countless individuals I deeply love and admire, but the institution and her claims have lost their sway within my heart. Clinging to my personally dead faith has lead me to become bitter, sarcastic, and depressed; I feel I do God a grave disservice by idly sitting through Mass with glazed-over eyes and a closed heart. I have become an automaton mindlessly spouting words to which I ascribe no genuine meaning.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.
To all the wonderful Christians out there with healthy, happy faiths, please pray for me, a wretched sinner.
