we all probably have heard or read , the “Imitation of Christ,” St. Ignatius’ “Spiritual Exercises,” St. Teresa of Avila’s “Way of Perfection”, etc.

so what other books are good for spiritual discernment?

so far, i like Segundo Galilea’s “Temptation and Discernment.”
www.icspublications.org

any recommendations?

Saint Faustina’s diary has a number of good sections on spiritual discernment.

Here’s some good material on discernment of spirits from John Veltri, S.J. Some of the material is from Orientations, Vol 1, the rest is apparently available only on his web site:

sentex.net/~jveltri/bob/heart.html

As you look at the site, you may want to follow the links on the pages, I think you’ll enjoy them and find them useful. The price is right, too. Enjoy.

Our book club is reading *Weeds among the Wheat * by Thomas H. Greene. It is based upon the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatious. I’m benefitting a lot from reading it, but the discussions with others has really been helpful.
