If a person/entity decided to falsely label another person as “non-catholic”, would the Holy See of Rome state that they have committed a mortal sin?

Would they have to spend more time in purgatory if they demanded that an apostolic Christian label themselves as “non-catholic” simply because it was more convenient?

Is it a sin to place false labels on people in order to have them converse with you??

Is it in anyway sin for the “moderators” to have concocted these rules and force people to deny the catholicity of the church that they are part of, simply so they can engage in ecumenical dialogue in a conveniently handcuffed manner?

Just treat “Catholic” as a proper noun, referring exclusively to the church in communion with Rome. You can still profess your “catholicity”. Note that it’s Non-Catholic, not Non-catholic. There’s a distinction 👍

For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: “Mortal sin is sin whose object is grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent.”

I don’t think this is right but I did hear a priest do this.
He said some Catholics are Catholics and some Catholics are non Catholics.
He was trying to emphasize the fact that those not practicing their faith can pull another away.
It made me think about how I can be influencing another,so I must not pull others away and pay attention to what others are saying to me.
