Liza, one caveat. I heard Constance Cumbey speak on a similar topic a number of years ago at a Human Life International convention in California. Unless she has changed in her outlook, she lumps authentic Catholic mysticism into the category of “New Age”. When I asked her about this directly (giving the example of St. Teresa of Jesus), she made no bones about it.
