Further that most of our worldly problems come about from this .
I can find no reference where individuals, or group) can pray
and cast out demons causing problems
I find myself ill equipped to discuss this topic with individuals from Vineyard church groups who have seemingly strong backgrounds in "their " interpretation of the Bible.

Spiritual warfare is reallistic. St. Paul speaks of it. However many times I hear people say that they are under spiritual attack when what they are calling the attack is a result of their own actions. For instance, a person can’t afford to pay the utilities and they say that the evil one is attacking them by making them not have enough money. But if you trace back, they blew their earnings on unnecessary things and not being able to afford the utilities is just a consequence to their actions. Usually this comes from a person who thinks that anything that remotely brings them discomfort is caused by demonic influence and is an attack. Now I would agree that it is an engagement in warfare when we battle the temptations to blow the utility money because we are battling between total selfish indulgence and responsible, stewardly action. So in this case (and others like it) I have found the mislabeling of spiritual warfare.

Just a periodic observance.

True, time and tested, methods of Spiritual Warfare are only found in the Orthodox Church. It requires vigilance over thoughts as that is primarily how demons attack - through thoughts. Our thoughts can come from 3 sources: ourselves, God/Angels or demons. Unless we know that, we simply assume all thoughts are ours. For example, women who kill their children because they kept “thinking” they had to, don’t even realize those thoughts were not there and so when they had these thoughts, rather than fight them, they failed to fight them and eventually gave in and did unspeakable acts.

Once we realize that our thoughts may not be our own, then we use discernment so we can be able to determine the source and act accordingly. We must “be transformed by the renewal of your minds” as Sacred Scripture says.

Spiritual Warfare is a deep subject and I will not be able to begin to really scratch the surface here, but just know that if you really want to know how to fight using true Spiritual Warfare, then get yourself to an Orthodox Spiritual Father or Mother for assistance. Fr. Ephraim of St. Anthony’s Monastery in AZ is a great one. Or at the very least buy an Orthodox Book on Spiritual Warfare.

could be but not necessarily all the time. A person who suspects being possessed or under demoniac influence must consult an exorcist priest who has ways to determine if this is true; if not he sends him to psychiatrist or other solutions.
