At my monthly sessions, we tend to go over a lot of ground, since just about anything can affect one’s spiritual progress. So this session included spiritual advice and comment on dealing with my Mother’s Alzheimer’s, and my cat Silver’s liver deteriortion.
We also went over my prayer program, now anchored in The Divine Office. Since the psalms are the backbone of the DO, Brother Jackson suggested I buy a copy of Carroll Stuhlmueller’s THE SPIRITUALITY OF THE PSALMS, available from Liturgical Press.
We also went over my financial sitution. (It’s grim, but NOT desperate.) My need to care for Mother means I can forget about that Pilgimage to Fatima for sometime. We also talked about the upcoming elections, and he gave me some sound guidance on the topics. :yup:
And I will be attending a Franciscan retreat this weekend. I need to do some serious work on my spiritual progress to date, and what I can expect in the future, especially if I continue in my formation with the 1221 associations.
All in all, a fruitful session.
