Where? If you read a little further, Eph 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God – not because of works, lest any man should boast.” (RSV). Is baptism considered a work? If so, it seems clear that salvation does not depend on it (as the next verse says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. " (Eph 2:10 RSV), which would include Baptism). Seems clear to me that good works (including Baptism) are what we do as Christians because we’ve been saved.St. Paul doesn’t use the word baptism, but he alludes to it.
