Do you ever have any finicianl support when you have different visits? I am going to visit several orders and few are out of town - each visit costs a lot. Do you think it could be a good idea asking for some help from different organization such as “KofC”, etc …?

I understand that KofC’s do support when you go to seminary, but I am not sure if they are willing to support when you just start visiting. 🙂

Thanks!

My experience is that when visiting different orders one is on ones own. [Granted my experience only extends to myself and 6 -10 others who entered religious life] Most organizations who help with vocations to my knowledge help once someone has actually chosen the group and been accepted or is in the process of being accepted. Hopefully others will jump on here and share their experiences also. Maybe your Spiritual Director can help or give you practical suggestions?

Also please share with us your journey?? Where do you think you might be called to?? Or to what way of life?? Do let us know more as you have time… perhaps others will come up with ideas

Blessings of Peace and Good

I’ll ask my Spiritual Director about this - thank you for your suggestions.

As for my journey, I am currently discerning and I have a feeling in my heart that I am called to be a Franciscan – more specifically a Franciscan of the Immaculate. (FI) marymediatrix.com/religious-life/franciscan-friars-of-the-immaculate/

I think that I will take my time patiently and pray to grow in virtues and allow God to guide me. I feel the peace of this call deep in my heart and with Virgin Mary’s protection, I hope I could be at peace at let the Holy Spirit takes me one step at a time.

Please also pray for my formal girlfriend whom I had known for many years. God sent her to my life to guide me all these years. She’s been a very wonderful child of God.

God bless!

Hello again, Water…I was only looking over the Franciscans of The Immaculate website yesterday and very impressed indeed:thumbsup: . God’s blessings on your discernment and vocation…keeping you and yours and former girlfriend in prayer ( - I take it it is a typo and you mean “former” and not “formal” girlfriend). She sounds like a very special person indeed. …Barb:)

Thanks Poor Clare tobe and Barb for your prayer and support. Barb, yeah, I think I often mixed up with the two words when typing - yes, she is very special. 🙂

You also may want to check out their other website: www.airMaria.com - there is daily homily given by the FI priests.

God bless.

Contact the Serra Club in your area if you have one. I was offered assistance with travel costs from their trust fund.

Hello Water!..Typos very easily happen. We had one in our Bulletin this week - it read “thou shalt bear false witness” which gave me giggle!

I had a look at the link you gave above. I have dial up and the pages are very slow indeed to load up. I think that to access the homilies you need to be able to watch videos with sound? I dont have these, Water…a very old computer with very basic basics indeed i.e no video and no sound. I did find the “Tech” link on the top of the site too confusing for a computer learner as I am, to understand. Hence I had no luck at all in accessing the homilies as much as I really would have liked to do so!!!:crying:

Blessings, Water and my regards…cacha on the rounds of the Forums…Barb:)

I don’t know where you live but I would google Serra Club and the city you live in or your diocese. You may have a local chapter that you can contact. I learned more about what the Serra Club is and what it does at this site.

Good luck!

Thank you, kramerkan, for the website!
