"Springtime of Vatican II" and the "New Evangelization"

So what exactly is the “New Evangelization”? There is certainly an entourage of popular speakers(mostly centered on Theology of the Body) taking the catholic world by storm. Is what we’re seeing from these speakers the “New Evangelization”? If not, then how does one define it?

New Evangelization also taps into one of my favorite ideas that was expressed by St Augustine (I think)" “semper iterum incipere” or “always begin again”.
Which seems redundant but emphasizes the continuous renewal of Christ’s body.

It seems one feature of new evangelization is the continued and intensified conversion of those already baptized.

I was all psyched to respond to this thread, but I cannot add anything to Deacon Jeff’s post.

Good question, though. A lot of people confuse “new evangelization” with simply evangelizing in new ways. That is part of it, but the main distinguishing factor is the intended audience, which is those who have already ostensibly heard the Gospel message, but it hasn’t really sunk in.

Yeah, people hear “new” and think you’ve got to do stuff that’s never been before. Calling it a “Re-Evangelization” is probably more clear.
