So, basically, nothing is being done about the problems that have arisen in the Church since Vatican II. More an more couples are using contraceptives and more and more marriages are being declared null and void, and nothing is being done about it.
Your question was what I personally was doing. If you want testament of what other NO families are doing here is comes:
My father and mother address every problem they see with the pastor or choir director or both depending on who is involved. If they do not respond well to civil criticism, then the bishop gets a letter. If he does not respond well, whoever is above him gets a letter and so on. My parents have taught my three sisters and two brothers and I to Know, Love and Serve the faith. All six of us kids try to be good examples of the word Catholic when we are at school and with our friends. Many times we have to deny going to see movies or going to parties because we are Catholic, and we explain this to them.
My family is very good friends with the dean of the seminary in Denver, he is a layman and is awesome! He and the archbishop are making sure that all the priests that come out of that seminary are good priests. I know many, many priests, even here in Vegas, who are living very good and holy lives and who, despite the bishop here in Vegas, try to bring tradition into their churches. I have known a few bad priests in my time too, but they have always fallen before long.
I know of a person at my parish who converted an atheist woman and when she converted she brought 30 other people with her. He runs bible study and catechism study groups.
There are many things that need to be changed, but that doesn’t mean that everything is evil, rather there are many things that are good, and many small, but important things that need to be changed.
no more altar girls, tabernacle back to the center, protestant music dropped, women extra-ordinary ministers of the Eucharist dropped and men dropped as soon as there are enough priests, Churches need to be beautified, priests need to go to yearly classes to make sure they are up on what is right and wrong, priests need to be checked out at least once every couple years, bishops need to be held to a higher standard, bad priests and bishops need to be sent to monasteries to repent, etc…
But, the mass is good, as it is written in Vat II, just look at the NO mass said by EWTN, it is beautiful, maybe not as beautiful as the TLM, to some people, but it is beautiful.
Laudaumus Te,
I just remembered that a long time ago I asked you what you found wrong with the 5 requirements for the SSPX to come back into the Church and you said that it was not for you to decide, but you are wrong! It is for every single person in the SSPX to decided 1"Are the requirements good and reasonable?" 2"Why would my leaders refuse?" 3"Are these reasonable for me?" 4"What will I require before I would agree to rejoin the Church?" 5"Is this reasonable?"
I have to go to a meeting now. Have a good day!
