Incidenally, all, the priest’s name is not “Fr. Blond,” he’s Ezequiel Rubio. The Google translator, or whichever machine someone fed the original text into to produce the result we have here, simply tried to “translate” his last name.
:rotfl:

I do agree, we should examine our minds, hearts and souls. Pray for this to be a step closer to a unity.

This Fr. Blond is quoting stuff that is way out of line for a priest of the SSPX or any other group.

As for Abp Lefebvre; God has dealt with his soul already. Time for us to let it be. The lifting of the Excommunications was done for the current Bishops of the SSPX.

What will be, will be. Pray for a successful Reconciliation, and a Just one.

On excommunications, they end at death. There is not need nor sense to lift an excommunication after death. The soul has undergone particular judgement and Our Lord is the perfect judge so there is no benefit, except perhaps to clarify an injustice or misconception, if that is the case. In any event, Our Lord will have obviously already taken that into account.

Concerning the original post, I have no idea what was in the reply. But seriously, do you think that Msgr. Lombardi would have characterized the response as “progress” or “promising” if it reads as this article suggests?

Let me warn everyone that there will continue to be torpedoes aimed at this from all vantage points. We need to trust in The Holy Father and Bp Fellay to have the Church and the faith as their goals and chill until someone says something official.

Wise words, I can think of several people on both extremes not wanting this to work out. This may not be the last of this type of report that comes out.

Thus, time to relax and eat toasted cheese sandwiches instead of speculating!

I skimmed that article. No way would a Bishop make such demands, in such language, to a sitting Pope, in the middle of a negotiation. Ignore it.

YUM!

Well, in honor of the thread on beer… ah… never mind.

Shame on you all. Brother JR is going to make you all go into the chapel tonight and examine your concience for an hour. 😛

…on your knees, on the bare floor.

There will be fasting tomorrow. 6 oz. bread and warm water. The coffee pot has been placed in the safe in the sacristy and the sacristan has been told not bring it out until further notice.

All this is your pennance for idle speculation. 😃

Two hours…at least - and cold water with stale bread.

👍

But…wait! I thought we were getting toasted cheese sandwiches! And beer! Not cold water and stale bread!!!

Obviously this *is *the traditionalist forum! 😛

I don’t know how you can do this but this priest is off the reservation that is off the reservation.
Given the language in it I have a strong idea that it is pure rhetoric and false.
The SSPX site has been unbelievably quiet. The silence on both sides is a very good sign. If one side wanted the type of things this article said you can guarantee some loudmouth priest would not be the only thing you would have heard. I said before, I think unity is right here. Now, can the SSPX control itself enough to be quiet so as not to disturb this very delicate time.
I am optimistic. And one of the reasons I am is because this oddball report is one of the only bits of rumor in a week.
