Just some ponderings…

The Priestly Fraternity of St Peter (FSSP) have Tridentine Masses all over the world. Here in Sydney they are scattered over the city east to west and beyond. They are very lovely Masses oh and the chant 😃

As far as I know they recieved approval from Pope John Paul II and their mission is growing and strengthening. As well as saying Mass they have produced DVDs and other instructional materials in praying the Tridentine Mass.

They are doing great work considering their aims. As far as I know they support the authority of the Church without question and Vatican II too, though not necessarily some peoples understanding of the council.

Not to pit the 2 against each other (can I make that very clear) but if SSPX had accept Vat 2 like The FSSP, would not this have helped their cause.

Maybe they just could not accept Vat 2, the ‘New’ Mass etc and would not budge. If they could not budge, then how can they budge now?

Will they ever have full communion with the Church and legally carry out their mission? Provided they accept that the New Mass is a valid and real sacrifice, instead of calling it an abomination in the sight of God, I hope so!

What do you think 🤷

Well, if the entire SSPX had done what the FSSP did, there would be no FSSP, because the FSSP was founded by priests who split from the SSPX after the excommunications.
