Can St Antoninus who was canonised in 1523 be classified as a “pro-choice” bishop since (someone CLAIMED recently) he defended early abortions to save women’s lives?
Who made the claim and what is their source? Can St Antoninus who was canonised in 1523 be classified as a “pro-choice” bishop since (someone CLAIMED recently) he defended early abortions to save women’s lives?
Direct abortion, even to save the mother, is still pro-choice. Allowing medical procedures which may result in the death of the child as an unintended result is allowed. Perhaps this is what St. Antoninus was advocating (if the source is reliable at all).Even if someone actually supported abortion to save the life of the mother, that would hardly be pro-choice.
