Hi I am buying a Saint Benedicts Crucifix and am going to get it blessed. Do you have the priest say the official blessing for the crucifix followed by blessing the medal or bless the whole thing at once?
You can ask the priest to bless the medal with the specific prayer for St. Benedict medals (see an earlier post I made about this), and to also bless the crucifix itself.
When I had this done the priest did the blessing of the crucifix first, and then the medal (he also blessed some other St. Benedict medals I had that were not part of crucifixes.
