St. Bernadette's Incorruptible Body a Hoax?

Recently I came by an article saying that the incorruptible body of St. Bernadette, “In 1925 the body was encased in finely sculpted wax to freshen up the corpse which by that time had blackened, shriveled and mildewed.” How might one respond to such an allegation?

Nonsense. She’s the most perfectly preserved incorruptible in the Catholic Church. The wax is not a ‘‘casing’’. When they took her out and found her perfectly preserved, the nuns washed her and then it was discovered that this action caused her skin to bruise and get some discoloration. The wax is a very, very very thin max that has no ability to preserve a dead, decaying body. It merely prevents discoloration, nothing else. The Saint is the most perfectly preserved incorruptible in the Church.
