A non-Catholic friend told me that St. Christopher was no longer deemed to be a saint by the Church. Is this true?

No, not true. 🙂 He was merely removed from the Universal Calendar celebrated by the whole Church. Those parishes or areas or devotees of his may still celebrate his feast day. There wasn’t enough reliable historical information about him to sustain universal Mass celebration on his feast day. He wasn’t the only one that was so removed for much the same reasons, but they may still be venerated by those who wish to do so.

i know this is off topic, but it’s pretty cool so i thought i’d share. i’m not catholic, but looking into the faith. i went to a christian (not catholic) bookstore and bought some books on catholicism. i saw a st christopher medallion and it was only 10 bucks and, because my name is chris i thought it would be kinda neat, so i bought it. later on i did a google on st christopher and read a little about him. i was floored to find out he’s the patron saint of travelers. my job…truck driver.👍
