Working with a lapsed Catholic gone Fundamentalist, has great deal of respect for St Francis. Can you help me find the source or entire quote of this:

St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226): “All who have not believed that Jesus Christ was really the Son of God are doomed. Also, all who see the Sacrement of the Body of Christ and do not believe it is really the most holy Body and Blood of the Lord . . . these also are doomed!”
 
olrl.org/doctrine/eens2.shtml I found this, but, I’m sure this is where you yourself found the quote. It doesn’t tell on where the writting of this is, but, there you go. Also, I don’t know how in league this is with the Church (that is, the website…I don’t know if it’s on the up and up…)
 
Mmmmmm, interesting. I did that on Yahoo!'s search engine. When I tried it on Google, it suggested the added word SACREMENT so that it reads, of the Body of Christ and do not believe it is really the most holy Body and Blood of the Lord . . . these also are doomed!""All who have not believed that Jesus Christ was really the Son of God are doomed. Also, all who see the Sacrament gave an entirely NEW search complete with 6 replies. The first one is vehimently anti-Catholic saying the Catholic Church has done nothing but hate, the last 5 are tradie sites, it seems. …Did you already look at these? Maybe they can help you be able to find this quote documented, but, enter at your own risk…IF somebody else cannot help you.
 
I don’t know about my hero St. Francis, but my other hero St. Ignatius of Antioch did say this:

"CHAP. VII.–LET US STAND ALOOF FROM SUCH HERETICS.

They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer,(7) because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again. Those, therefore, who speak against this gift of God, incur death(11) in the midst of their disputes. But it were better for them to treat it with respect,(13) that they also might rise again. It is fitting, therefore, that ye should keep aloof from such persons, and not to speak of(15) them either in private or in public, but to give heed to the prophets, and above all, to the Gospel, in which the passion[of Christ] has been revealed to us, and the resurrection has been fully proved.(16) But avoid all divisions, as the beginning of evils."Letter to the Smyrneans
 
Yes, good ol’ Ignatius is a powerhouse, however I’d like to pin down the quote I copied somewhere along the line attributed to Francis Assisi. I was concerned with the … in it which gives the appearance of editing, and how it impacts on the quote.

Adstrinity also provided some support for the quote however it too has the vacancy of words embedded.

I appreciate your help so far, but I feel I need to get this a little tighter if possible. A Francis of Assisi quote such as the regarding the Eucharist will make a huge impression.

It is from his writing:

“His Words of Sacred Admonition
to all the Brothers”

In the 2nd paragraph:

“Whence all who saw the Lord Jesus acccording to the Humanity and both did not see and believe according to the spirit the Divinity also, that He Himself is the true Son of God, have been damned; so even now all who see the Sacrament, which is sanctified by the words of the Lord upon the Altar by the hand of the Priest in the form of bread and wine, and does not see and believe according to the spirit the Divinity also, that this is truly the Most Holy Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, have been damned, since the Most High Himself testifies, who said: “This is My Body and My Blood of the new testament (which is poured forth for the many” (Mt. 14:22,24); and “He who eats My Flesh and drinks the Blood of the Lord.” All Others, who do not have according to this same spirit and presume to receive Him, eat and drink judgement upon themselves (cf. 1 Cor. 11:29). Whence: “Sons of men, how long with a heavy heart?” (Ps 4:3) So that you may know the truth and believe in the Son of God (cf. John 9:35))”
