I have been trying to find a place on the internet where I can get the St. Francis Prayer how it is displayed in most hymnal’s. Where it displays the Hallelujah and the prayer. I dont know if i can explain what I mean clear. Hopefully someone knows what i meen. I can only find the prayer and the sheet music.

At www.google.com I searched for:
“make me a channel of” music

Lots of results come up, so hopefully you can find the one you want.

Thanks, no luck yet though. I am going to look for a catholic hymnal pdf

Which version of the St Francis prayer though? It’s been made into several versions - there’s one that starts ‘Lord make me a means of your peace’

Yup, that one is a part of AA literature. Only spoken, not chanted or sung. Maybe I should learn a chanted version to show off at an AA meeting:rolleyes:

I think what I am going to do is look at who made my church’s hymnal and get my own copy. 😃 My church has the version where it sounds kinda like the prayer but it seems it is really long and I think its because in our hymn book with have the hallelujah’s. I am a caveman when it comes to knowing how to explain things im not as fammiliar with describing. Sorry 😃

Thanks for all the help so far it is much apreicated

Hi LilyM! There is more than one hymn with words by St. Francis. Could you possibly be thinking of “All Creatures of Our God and King”? It is usually sung to the tune Lasst Uns Erefreuen (L.M. with Alleluias). It contains alleluias that you are looking for. If you google “All Creatures of Our God and King”, you will get various sites that will give you the history of words, the common tune, and all of the verses. Some of the sites will actually play the hymn for you. This is a powerful, strong and uplifting hymn that is a joy to sing. Welcome to the wonderful world of traditional hymns!

I didn’t think of ‘All Creatures of our God and King’ … :hmmm:

That’s the one that goes

‘Thou burning sun with golden beam
Thou silver moon with softer gleam
O Praise Him, O Praise Him, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia …’

Is that the one you’re thinking of Atk Aheeni?
