… tell me, what is a slide projectionist at the sunday gym “mass?” what’s a host, especially when eucharistic ministers are listed as well?
Without having seen that page, I can tell you that the “slide projectionist” is responsible for projecting the words to the hymns on the wall or screen. Probably two projectors. It works well. People can get their noses out of the hymnal and look up.

The “Hosts” are probably greeters and mixers who welcome people and chat with folks and answer questions for newcomers.

What other activities these people do at St. Joan’s these days I don’t know, but I do know that they serve a valuable purpose in other parishes where I have attended Mass.

A welcoming team that brought parishoners together for more than just bingo would be a great idea.

66 seems pretty young for a priest to retire in view of the world wide shortage.

Please pray for Father Wertin that he may find a new mission in which to serve God after he leaves St. Joan’s.

First, I will continue to pray for his conversion. The cry of the faithful has been heard, having him leave. Someone like Fr. Wertin doesn’t disappear quietly…

The “pastoral search team” made me laugh. They did something similar at my husband’s assignment, knowing full well who would be the new pastor from the first moment. I hope the new priest can bridge the apostasy there and bring the parishioners back to Christ. He’ll certainly have his work cut out for him!

Paul was not IN the Church.
If Paul was not in the church, who is? Was he not an apostle in good standing with Peter?
This priest is a cancer IN the BODY.
I do not, can not, and would not condone evil committed by this priest. But that is not the point. No matter what the state of his soul, he is still loved by God. He has until the day he dies to repent and make amends for the sins he has committed. Just like you and l. If you consider him your enemy, or even an enemy of the church, are we not still bound by Jesus’ command to love our enemies?

For heaven’s sake, read your own question:

That clearly means when he was NOT in the Church. He was a pharisee, killing Christians who could not run fast enough or hide well enough.

Titus 1:13 This testimony is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Shall we end up with a bible verse vollyball game?

What does rebuking him have with not praying for him?

Great solution!
You pray, I’ll rebuke. He can’t miss!
THE END.

Posting of article stated to be published in tomorrows newspaper.

The second parish mentioned is St. Thomas the Apostle in sw Minneapolis, just west of Lake Harriet. I’ve lived here a long time and I’ve never heard of that parish.

Another parish to make the news recently for the same reason was St. Stanislaus in St. Paul. Just north of W. Seventh on Western.
