I believe the Monks’ Bread abbey is Abbey of the Genesee, not far from where I live. Spencer makes jams.

They’ve made jam for years, and are the first official Trappist brewery in the US, which just opened a few years ago. I enjoy both their jams and their beer😁

The Abbey is also a GREAT place to go on retreat, although the waiting list can be long, so you have to book well in advance. Anyone can drop in for mass and Liturgy of the Hours, which I’ve done as well.

It’s a beautiful Abbey, and a beautiful vocation.

I’ve made retreats at St Joseph’s Abbey in Spencer, MA and go there often for Sunday Vespers and Benediction.

The monastery itself along with the monastery church, were constructed back in the early 1950s from the stones and wood mostly from the monastery grounds itself. There is a video showing the monks constructing the monastery themselves,

Their industries consists of Trappist Preserves, Vestments(Holy Rood Guild) and they make Trappist Ale.

There is a book and gift shop at the entrance to the monastery grounds, which consists of 2200 acres of rural land.

Love the place !

Jim
