I was wondering if anyone here had any good ideas for a St Josephs Day craft to do with kindergarten children.

I plan on reading the Bible story of when the angel appears to St Joseph in his dream and taking them to mass.

we had so much fun for st patricks day making crafts and eating green treats and watching a st patricks dvd. Now we have St. Joseph’s Day,the man who raised Jesus, and nothing.

since so many have taken a peek, im going to assume no one had any ideas.

my sister sent me a website with a cute idea im going to get the supplies this evening.

thankevann.com/stjoseph/color.html

also i am going to get 2 rolls of bread dough, twist them and make st joseph’s cane with the kids.

Your request deserves some reply Weepixie!

As St Joseph was a carpenter, how about something to do with working wood? Depending on the age of the children, you could do activities of varying degrees of complexity starting from glueing woodshavings onto paper in patterns to make a picture - say of a donkey or a fishing boat - to sandpapering rough bits of wood to make smooth-edged heat mats or cutting boards - to sawing and nailing together simple wooden products such as bookends or simple boxes. Perhaps woodshavings and wood offcuts could be obtained from a local timber supplier?

Hope this helps.

Pax vobiscum.

In Seton Art book 1 it has a nice stained glass window idea. You color the picture of St. Joseph and then cut out colored pieces of tissue paper and glue to the back of the page where holes are cut out to look like a church window, then you can hang it in your window. I think that’s what I’ll do with my 5 yo tomorrow, in addition to going to Mass and getting a creme puff at the bakery…or maybe an eclair. I don’t know if they have creme puffs. 🙂

ACH!!! This is too late, but, for next year, wear and remind everyone to wear RED!! Eat red treats. Red is the color for this day.
