Does anybody still frequent or host these? Anyone have warm stories of their past to share about it?

Back in the old country, my grandmother made a pact with God in her prayers if he would bestow on her more children. She bought, cooked, and served for a poor family of three every year until she came to the states. Her prayer pact was met joyfully! 🙂

I think I would like to keep tradition going someday.

Our parish is presently having 40 Hours Devotion and is including St. Joseph’s table today; this is the first for both at the parish and I hope both become a regular part of the devotional life of the parish.

40 hours! Wow that’s a marathon! Such stamina! Let us know how it turns out for your parish. Great event! God Bless you and your parish, here is to more years to come!

Lots of parishes – and fire stations – in Chicago have this tradition. And I miss it here in DC. But I went to Mass at noon . . .

Thank you, OLHope. 🙂 From what I witnessed and heard the 40 Hours was very well attended, so I think that will encourage our pastor to repeat this wonderful devotion at least once a year.
