Hi Everyone,
Quite new to this…so I welcome all useful answers. I have done the Consecration to Our Lady, as per St. Louis de Montfort. But one thing Ive never been certain about is how I should offer up my daily Rosary. Before I did the Consecration I always had my own intentions, which I used to ask Our Lady before starting the Rosary. In particular such intentions as “for the salvation of the souls of my family and loved ones”. But as I understand it once you have done the Consecration we are meant to offer all our prayers, good works etc for the intentions of Our Lady, and she will use these as she knows best. So I now precede my Rosary by saying “ for your ( Our Lady’s ) Holy intentions, and for the triumph of Your Immaculate Heart” and leave it at that. But I can’t help feeling that I would still like to specifically mention my intention for my family etc. What should I be doing ? Should I alternate, so that on one day I mention my own, specific intentions and on the following day I offer up the Rosary according to Our Lady’s intentions?
Also, what are people’s views on whether it is best to vocalise and say the rosary out loud, or say the words of the prayers mentally, without using speech ? I have to say I feel like I’m just half praying if I don’t use spoken words.
Thanks so much

I pray here often and fully Trust Our Lady to dispense my prayers to those who need them most. I have Consecrated and renewed 2x.

As for interior prayer I do this at night. But is always good for the devil to hear you pray vocally at times.

There is a member here who is an expert on the subject of Marian Consecration.

I can not answer the first, since I have not yet studied the consecration and done it (I pray to Mary that she would accept me before death though). On the rosary though: say the words but meditate on the kysteries. The words are in the baxkfround, don’t think about them. Focus entirely on the mysteries.

I have found that eventually you develop a perfect rhythm doing this, and you’ll be genuinely asking Mary’s intercession and meditating, but it begins by ignoring the words for the most part. They are said out loud.

I consecrated in 2016 and have renewed 3x.

Either one is fine, or both is fine. A priest confirmed to me that if a consecrated person wishes to request Mother Mary to apply prayers for a special intention, she honors the request. So I feel free to pray for intentions (such as souls of deceased persons, protection of myself and the USA, those who are sick or in need, etc) just as I did before and have confidence in my Mother to sort out the prayers.

You can pray it either way.
If you want to try to get the plenary indulgence for praying the Rosary, then you must pray it out loud (and there are other conditions - you must either pray it by yourself in a church or oratory, or anywhere in a family group or pious group, or anywhere alone or with others for the Vatican’s special coronavirus intentions).
If you choose to pray it just mentally then you can only get a partial indulgence for mental prayer, unless it’s a case where you are physically unable to speak (deaf or mute person or have illness where you can’t talk).
