Hello I have read some about Padre Pio. And he would say send your angel and your prayer will be answered. Can you really ask your guardian angel to do something like this?? I mean you can’t send your angel for he isn’t your servant, right? But is it OK with Jesus to talk to your guardian angel? I am not “channeling” him but asking him to send my prayers to anyone in heaven that will listen. Maybe a weird question, but just wondering. And can Padre Pio intercede for someone like he did on earth?? I need answers and please anyone feel free to do so, but any priest apologetic please answer me as well. Thanks so much Scoob.

God’s angels are His intermediators; they may take your prayers to His Throne, for it is one of their secondary jobs (their first job is to worship God). The saints, who have joined the angelic ranks, do as the angels do, save they also proffer their merits to the Lord.

Of course it’s fine. And why wouldn’t St Padre Pio be able to intercede for us - any heavenly saint can do so, whether our guardian angel is involved or not (somehow I suspect our guardian angel is ALWAYS involved, though).

Blessed Pope John XXIII apparently, before meetings, would ask his guardian angel to speak to the guardian angels of the people he was about to meet so that things would go smoothly.

Your Guardian Angel is your protector on earth. Ask him/her to do things for you like send messages to the Saints in heaven or even to help you rejoice while praying, as long as it isn’t against the Lord’s will I don’t see why your Guardian Angel wouldn’t help. As a matter of fact it is often encouraged to name your Guardian Angel so that it is easier to communicate with him/her. Just pray about it and choose a name and theres a good chance it will be right.

As for St. Pio of Pietrelcina (who happens to be my patron Saint) of course you can pray to them and ask them to intercede for you. I can’t remember where I got it but he once said when he was dying that he would be able to do so much more for us in heaven then he ever was able to on earth.

So go for it!

Edit: Also i’v heard of people when they sleep asking their Guardian Angel to spend time in the Adoration Chapel so that they are always adoring the Blessed Sacrament. Your Guardian Angel was assigned to you to protect you and get you to heaven! Use him/her!

You can ask your guardian angel to do many things for you. It is up to the angel if he will do it, but if it is a good request you can certainly piously hope he will.

They are quite pleased to be recognized, so often forgot.

Be careful of any extraordinary events however, that is what discernment of spirits is for if they occur. 🙂

The Chaplet of St. Michael is a prayer that is a good way to make the angels the happier.

Angel of God
my guardian dear,
to whom God’s love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide.

Angele Dei,
qui custos es mei,
me, tibi commissum pietate superna,
illumina, custodi,
rege et guberna.

Our guardian angels are our friends and protectors, whenever my kids are away from home, I ask my GA to check in with theirs to make sure they are alert.

Whenever I’m about to go off on a flight, I make sure my GA is alert and ready to assist. I doubt that they ever need sleep or rest like we do (or maybe they do), but it must be very boring tiresome task to just watch over us 24/7 so I just want to give them a heads up to keep them on their toes.

My GA has done a terrific job so far. I call him Mike or Michael. We ought to communicate with our GAs more often. It’s their job to keep us on the straight and narrow, and sometimes that can be a monumental task. They are our best friend and they are invaluable. So take advantage of their presence and I’m sure they will help whenever and where erver we need them.

They are not our slaves but they most certainly can be our messengers. It’s interesting that some saints were able to see their GA and other folks angels as well.
