St. Paul and" Faith alone"

Fundamentalists claim that Paul taught justification by “Faith alone”
But can Fundamentalists answer the questionas to why St. Paul never used the “specific phrase” “faith alone”, anywhere in his epistles; or for that matter, anywhere in the New Testament.
I read somewhere that Paul used the word faith about two hundred times in his epistles, but not once did he ever join the word alone or only, to compose the phrase " faith alone."
Also, Paul wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, who knew of the word alone, but prevented Paul from using the word in connection with faith.
Even though the Holy Spirit prevented Paul from using the phrase faith alone he allowed James to use the word alone declaring that " man is justified by works and not by faith alone ( James 2:24)
So why is it that Fundamentalists no that Paul never taught Justification by faith alone, but still teach that he did?

Why limit it to just Fundamentalists, don’t Protestants all believe in faith alone?

The Reformation took place 500 years ago, it was more politically driven then doctrinally driven. In Europe, the kings, the ruling class in the European countries saw a great opportunity to steal the great wealth of the Catholic Church. Of course a religious revelution was much easier to accomplish when the Catholic heirarchy, (Bishops, and the Popes) had allowed materialism to rule them more so than the Spirit of God.
The working class people wanted a change, not a change in doctrine, the Church’s doctrines have always been guided by the Holy Spirit, but a change in the coruption of the Church’s elite. God brought about a chastisment on His Church because it was needed.

The European rulers at the time needed a doctrine to jump on, to embrace and to literally force upon the people as justification for severing ties with the Pope and the Church. As justifying the desecration of the Monasteries, confiscating the incredible wealth that the Catholic Church had amassed.

Martin Luther was more in the right place at the right time, had he been born 100 years earlier, no one would have paid any attention to his rediculous claims, nor to Calvin or any other reformers.

Protestantism has been forced upon many European countries for the past 500 years. And they will fight to support their unsound docrtines tooth and nail. Because they were born and bred into it, in addition to that they have been taught in many cases to hate Catholicism.

All purely Protestant doctrines can be easily refuted by knowledgable Catholic apologists. You are doing the very same thing, when you ask a perfectly logical question, “If Paul never said faith alone, why do they believe it?” The answer of course is a long and complicated one, but it clearly has nothing to do with logic.
